How can you tell the difference Type1 vs Type2 - Acura Forum

Well here it goes...the title is pretty much my question...I bought a 95 GS from a used dealership in which Im convinced its a lemon..Nevertheless I had 5 legends in my lifetime but none was ever a type2...the only problem is besides having the 160 odometer... the basic type 2 sign on the engine is not there. Whats puzzling is when I went to get my title for the car the mileage on the odometer doesnt match what the title states...so Im now questioning is this really a type 2 engine....it has the manifold tcs and like I said everything the GS comes with....carfax on the car states its a type 2...so how can i decipher if the engine was changed with just a type1...pleas

e anyone input would be most appreciated.

it'll have "TYPE II" on intake manifold.. if now you have type I

Yeah, if you don't see the

clearly on the top of the intake manifold, it's not a Type II.

Looks like the previous owner had some problems and swapped it out for a normal Type I, but put the TCS module back on the throttle body.
