Jarring Noise

Have 94 Legend. Every time I shift gears, I always hear a jarring noise like something is grinding. I suspect its the axle assembly. I already have a replacement for it but my question is.. is there any other thing I need to have available before I turn it over to the mechanic. I rather have my own parts.

Comment much appreciated.

You really needa second person to help you determine whereits coming from..get the car on a lift with a buddy who is knowledgeable and see if you hear where the grinding is coming from.

Its a little tricky where the sound comes from. But yeah, the lift should do the trick... thanks.
