speed vs rpm

hi guys,

my friend has a '95 coupe. it has a 4 speed automatic, but does it come with overdrive? i drove the car for about a week and notice that the rpm is pretty high at around 4k for 80mph. i did not notice over drive kick in at anytime.

thanks for your help.

The info for the car states it comes with a 4 automatic overdrive so it should . I have a five speed a at 80 MPH I am around 3000 rpm. The 6speeds are even better around 2500rpm @ 80mph.

I think it's a normal RPM for a 4 speed automatic.
