Third Brake Light and Back Up Lights

Hello Guys,

My third brake light (High Mount) has not been working for a while. And three days ago, I realized that my reverse lights ( The white ones) have not been working either. That, I assume. might explain why the brake warning light on my dash had been on.

I replaced the third brake light lamp with a lamp directly from Acura. I checked all the tail lights bulbs, and I have found out that one of the brake lights was blown out; I replaced it with a new one, which automatically took care of the BRAKE LIGHT WARNING on my dash; the warning is now off. However, here's the catch:

my back up lights (reverse lights) and my third brake light ( High mount brake light) are still not working. I replaced the light bulbs, checked the fuses, which are fine, but the problem remains. What can I do next?

Since the regular brake lights are working fine, I doubt the problem may be the cause of the brake light sensor. Anyway, your suggestions and ideas are humbly appreciated. Thank you

It appears the sensor on the tranny may not be working correctly. When you put the xmsn in reverse, there is a switch that is engaged to turn the circuit on that gives you the backup lights. Check that out.

Good luck
