Trunk relase and other items

1995 Legend SE, bought it new, 92,xxx miles. I need help correcting the following items, please:

1- Trunk release (on driver door) stopped working
2- Antenna motor is working (I can hear it) but antenna not going up or down
3- The A/C blows out the defrost somewhat when the setting is for the cab only. Damper issue ??
4- iPod set up through an FM Transmitter gives me terrible static. Is this a power outlet issue or ??
5- ABS Light. I've been told the ABS is shot, but I have no interested in paying to have it replaced. Is there away to get the ABS turned off in the instrument panel permanently? ...(tried reset by disconnecting the battery already).

Thank you for your assistance.

Seems like the cable may be streched or broken

2- Antenna motor is working (I can hear it) but antenna not going up or down
Yeah that happened 2 years later on my 1993 Legend LS - need new motor. All you have to lubricate the antenna with a silicon spray

3- The A/C blows out the defrost somewhat when the setting is for the cab only. Damper issue ??
Probably..sounds like it

4- iPod set up through an FM Transmitter gives me terrible static. Is this a power outlet issue or ??
You more than likely have wiring that is no longer shielded. Check your spark plug wires.

5- ABS Light. I've been told the ABS is shot, but I have no interested in paying to have it replaced. Is there away to get the ABS turned off in the instrument panel permanently? ...(tried reset by disconnecting the battery already).
Have tried to jamming on the brakes and seeing if the ABS kicks in? You will feel rapid pulses and it sounds like a machine gun going off.

Thank you for your assistance.

My complete apology. I'm the idiot. I simply looked at the italics and didn't bother to look under the questions themselves. I hope that you can sincerely accept my deepest apology.

Not a problem, man.

This forum is a very tight knit group, and we pride ourselves greatly on our sense of community, openness, and the friends we make here all around the common goal of enjoying our Acura cars.

Thank you all.

Now to the ABS issue. I've tried jamming the brakes on to the point of just short of skidding. No luck with the ABS. Maybe a reconditioned pump?

Check to make sure that your brake fluid master cylinder and the ABS module have the correct level of fluid in them. Then check the fuses for the ABS system. After that, then look into replacing the module.

Hi Brokenback
Apolgy accepted and I am sorry I did not make myself more clear in my response to you.

Keep us posted on how you make out with the fixes.

Good luck

In case you haven't fixed everything yet, here are a couple of thoughts:

Quote:
1- Trunk release (on driver door) stopped working
2- Antenna motor is working (I can hear it) but antenna not going up or down
3- The A/C blows out the defrost somewhat when the setting is for the cab only. Damper issue ??
4- iPod set up through an FM Transmitter gives me terrible static. Is this a power outlet issue or ??
5- ABS Light. I've been told the ABS is shot, but I have no interested in paying to have it replaced. Is there away to get the ABS turned off in the instrument panel permanently? ...(tried reset by disconnecting the battery already).
1. Make sure you didn't accidentally flip the switch in the glove box to turn off the trunk latch. (Security for valet parking.)

2. If you can hear the antenna motor, then most likely the plastic with the teeth has broken. I bought a new replacement antenna mast only on eBay for under $20 and it works great.

3. ?
4. ?

5. After checking both brake fluid and ABS fluid levels, have you pulled the ABS code to rule out a bad wheel sensor. Most common to go are the rear sensors.

good luck on the repairs.
