good one... and a PDF too! great for printing out and reading in the reading lounge (read: on the toilet )

new Infinity 1st place... makes me wanna drive it... Maybe I will
Actually I think I wouldn't mind driving any one of those cars.

2nd place not too shaby... RL did great considering it was going up against V8's...

I'm still alive on the internet!

And yet, the Acura RL as tested was 49,470..the best price in the competition. The cars that blew the cap were the Jag and the Lexus (oh, btw, V8 Lexus). A few other stupid things in it, but good article anyway. The interior really makes/breaks for me though so the Infiniti doesn't stand a chance ...Not that I have 50k.

RL lost to both M35 and M45, what a shame.
Comparison against M35 is in the M/T.
I think RL would be 1st if it has just a little more low end torque and shorter stopping distance like S2000.

Pretty sad review as I see it.

I wouldn't be too concerned with this particular review. Either the individal writing it was misinformed on numerous items, or he just doesn't do his homework. His mistakes (on features or operational items) are quite plentiful.

Unfortunately, on top of the misinformation he dispensed, it appears he tested car(s) that had non-functioning items and/or poorly applied updates. His mention of side mirrors not functioning properly was the tipoff.

If this reviewer is bona fide and well respected, Acura should contact him and provide a follow up car that is more representative of the vehicle.

Thanks for the post; all reviews are helpful in my opinion. One of his nitpicks I have encountered in every RL I've sat in.

However, the spring-loaded cigarette lighters on all the RLs I drove were sticky, refusing to open fully. Yep I find the this a very poor and annoying design flaw.

He may have had the mirror switch in the wrong position. Tilt-down mirrors were introduced in '01 I believe (my '01 MDX had), originally on the passenger side only. At that time the selector switch HAD to be in the central (neutral) position for the mirror to tilt-down. Later on Acura introduced Tilt-down mirrors on both sides ('04 I think); and changed the way the switch worked. Now the switch muct be placed on the side mirror you want to tilt; leaving the switch in the middle turns it off - EXACTLY opposite from the way both my MDXs worked.
