Annoyingly loud beep when opening tailgate

I am wondering if there is a way to disable or lessen the volume of the beep that seems to wake the neighborhood when I lift the tailgate in my 2017 RDX.

Thanks!

Pretty much all you can do is disconnect it. This diagram shows where it's located.....

I have a similar very ANNOYING BEEP when I open the driver's door with the engine off and in park. While I haven't tested the back doors, when opening the passenger door, there is NO beep.

Looked in the manual, but can't find any procedure to disable this beep. Am I missing something?d

Why am I not seeing the "attached images" from Hondacuraplanet for disabling the tailgate warning. Is there a page in the shop manual that shows the location?

Is the sensor inside the tailgate or outside underneath? Can someone send me the instructions? I tried clicking on the diagram but it just makes the image larger.
Thanks

The beeper is outside behind the plastic bumper driver's side rear.Pulled mine down and rapped duct tape around it. Much quieter now
