2002 Acura RSX

Hey foks...
I always liked to have an Aura car even for a short time of period. I found this one but what he says is; the timing chain has snapped and he claimed as well that these kinda engines K20 are non interference. I watched YouTube people/mechanic who does swap, says they are interference. I asked a seller off Ebay, seems he doesn't know the answer because he didn't reply to me. So, is it inter or non inter?

Thank you...

Timing chains rarely snap. I do not believe your car has such a chain. It has a timing belt. Timing belts are supposed to be replaced at about 110,000 miles to prevent against this failure as your engine is an interference engine, you have almost assuradly damaged your valves and head.

The chain in the DC5 not belt, is good for 150k but I've seen them go 200k. Once the chain stretches it will usually jump before a snap but if it did, its most likely toast and yes its an interference motor.

I think you can ask some professionals through more channels. Or else you can take a look at this Honda Civic new. It might help.
