Going camping and river tubing

Well, due to the fact that motel rooms cost $100 and up in the area we are going to (we are talking Motel 6 and such), we are going to camp at a campsite for $22 a night (2 tents - 4 people total) and go tubing down the Guadalupe river this weekend. Should be fun.

Anyone else do this kind of shit? I'd like to raft down the river personally, but my wife and in-laws are probably too wimpy to do that.

there are different classes... you shouldn't tube down an long extended class3 or higher... although I've seen people do it
most beginning to moderate raft rides are not bad at all... it is very fun. depending on the river, you can have class4 parts that have a class1 right after it, so, if anyone falls out in the choppies, they can easily swim back to get pulled back on the raft after you pass that part... the tougher ones don't give you a break... tubing is fun too, but usually different... do both!

I'm still alive on the internet!

I just did that last weekend up by San Jose on the Kings River. The water is pretty slow where I went, it's more of a slow float with lots of beer
