Angry got pulled over...

Alright got pulled over today.

First it is for passing through a stop sign. (Not Gulity)

Next illegal tints. (Guilty)

Happend in Manhattan, NY.

I got off on the Houston exit off the FDR.

It was a woman cop alone.

I stopped at the sign but a car was along my side wich impared her view. Next thing you sirens and flashes.

She had an attitude I rolled my windows down hand on the wheel ignition off.

Just said my lic. and reg. Then came after a while like 3-5 min with a meter for my tint's which were dark I admit that 2 years first time I get in trouble even though other officer's never said anything.

She seemed mad but I do not know at what? perhaps PMS

Any points on the stop sign?

I had my seatbelt on but do they carry points?

I feel like fighting the ticket. Any lawyer that you might recommend pluse their info?

Needed to Vent.

Now I need some adivce. Please.

Pretty sure the stop sign will carry points. I'd fight it if it does.

Tough call on the stop. Depending on your situation and state, you can contest it several ways. In my case, I contested the ticket (running a yellow-I was in the middle when it changed). I went to court, and waited all day to appear before the judge. The officer who ticketed me was there, I think she had a few tickets show up that day. Well, all the officers are on one side and the defendents are on another I had a female judge who let it go after I told her that the light turned yellow as I halfway through the intersection. I was the last person to be seen that day and I think either she believed me() and/or she didn't like the officer who ticketed me(the officer was joking around in the courtroom w/other officers, smiling, etc.) Just a thought. Again, it depends how they do things in NY.

Duty, Honor, Country.

Those three hallowed words reverently dictate what you ought to be, what you can be, what you will be. They are your rallying points: to build courage when courage seems to fail; to regain faith when there seems to be little cause for faith; to create hope when hope becomes forlorn.
-General Douglas MacArthur

I am sure someone on this board has used one here in NY.

Should you decide to fight it, ultimately, in front of the judge, it will be your word against the cop. Guess who the judge will consider to be factual version?

Yield my friend.

I too got ticketed last week on my way to jury duty for speeding. I was following an SUV that was going way faster than I was. The SUV was leaving me behind. Speed limit is 35 mph. When I saw the cop with his radar I looked at my speedometer, I was doing 45mph. I thought the cop was going to go after the SUV, but no he went after me and slapped me with a ticket for doing 51 mph. Am I angry?--YES. Is it fair?--Hell NO! I'm guilty of 45 mph. The road was not good enough that I'd drive faster than 45mph. Is there anything I can do about it?--NO, bec of the inevitable outcome. This ticket comes after over 8yrs ticket-free. The way I see it, my number was up. I have to admit that I've been going fast for the last 2 yrs since I've been modding the TL, and have been lucky for the the times that I've been hot rodding. So, I'll be paying the ticket, go to traffic school, and for the next 18 mos at least I'll be cooling my jets.

BTW, those lic plate shields saying that they'll deflect radar is BS. I had them and yet the ticket. Again, what the cops says what the radar reading indicated will stand in court.

I think it's the way our cars look that invite attention. After being cited, the cop complimented how good the car looked.

always fight tickets...sometimes the cop doesn't show and the case gets tossed. But if you don't fight it, you'll never know and will have to pay higher insurance plus the points. note to self...when driving with illegal tints, ALWAYS roll down the windows so the cop can see inside. They get annoyed when they can't see inside and hassle you about it. best of luck

Hey I know this is an aged topic, but I also needed to find a traffic attorney for my failure to yield violation. I wanted to go with Martin, however he was way too expensive for me. However, his son Daniel Kron who has been with Martin for a long time, now runs his own show

https://nytrafficfirm.com/

He has a much softer pricing policies. I haven't hired him yet, so maybe someone has an experience dealing with Daniel, not Martin Kron?

Thx.
