Wiper Blades

My four year old wiper blades suck ass right now. Anything special about them that I should know about before I go out and get replacements?

Here's a little DIY with the wiper blades if you want to keep them a bit longer. Get a piece of fine grain sand paper and run it through the edge and sides of the blade. By doing that, you're exposing a new layer of rubber. Since most blades are carbon coated for a clear wipe, by doing that, you are also exposing a new layer of carbon. That'll get your blades to last a few months longer.

Here's an interesting fact about TL wiper blades.

Back in 99, there were a lot of complaints about TL blades skipping across the windshield, so they replaced them with a different type of blade.

The wiper blade inserts on the 2000 and up TL contain graphite, so that they glide across the windshield more easily. The downside is that they seem to get dirty more quickly.

Little tip, take some glass cleaner, spray it in a paper towel, and wipe the edge of the blade, and don't forget cleaning the spot on the windshield where the blade sits. Just give it one or two wipes, because of the graphite after that it will still appear somewhat dirty, even though it may be clean.

I HAD CRAPPY ACURA BLADES THAT WERE ONLY 4 MONTHS OLD! I BOUGHT BOSCH BLADES, AND THE NO TOUCH WINDSHIELD CLEANER. GOES ON THE WINDSHIELD LIKE A WAX, I DID HALF OF THE WINDSHIED, WHAT A DIFFERENCE! IT STRPIS ALL THE OLD CRAP RIGHT OFF. GO TO YOUR PARTS STORE, AND BUY THAT WHEN YOU GET NEW BLADES. MINE ARE JUST LIKE NEW NOW
