Exclamation Loose plastic part in engine bay?

My 2007 TSX sat for 5 months and battery died. I took out the battery to have it charged, and I noticed this piece was loose and flopping around. (No bolts present.) Looks like some sort of cover?

Replaced fully-charged battery and started my car up fine. Drove it for like a block before I got an exhaust warning. Could this cover thing being off cause that error? Any other ideas?

Thanks in advance for any advice/opinions/suggestions!

I'm trying to remember because its been awhile since looking in my 06 TSX engine bay (handed down to my son in 2014). I think that is the cover for the air intake. It drops below the battery into the resonator and back up into the bottom of the airbox. I think I remembered it wasn't secured and pulled up very easily. It was never out of place and it shouldn't give you the type of error you had.
