Acura TL or Lexus IS 250/350? Pricing questions also...

I looked at the TL's about 2 years ago and since then a few little things have changed...so I'm kind of "out of the know".

I am looking at the TL (not type S) and the Lexus IS 250/350...the 350 is obviously more expensive but it had some pros.

I got a price for a TL w/ Nav for $33,699...is this a good price?

Body Kit (4 pieces) installed: $1478

Extended Warranty Options (factory):

7yr/70k - $1660
7yr/100k - $1865

I know the extended warranties are high so if you have any input or got a much better deal please let me know.

Some constructive feedback between these two cars and your personal recommendations are HIGHLY appreciated!

The TL is considerably bigger, especially the in the back. If you plan on hauling people, then this may be a significant issue. The IS is RWD, so it will supposedly handle better. Bottom line, test drive both cars, see which you like better.

BTW that looks like a pretty good price if you get the body kit included.

Thats a tough choice. I think it all depends on how big of a car you want. The IS is small, stick 2 adults in the back see and there is no room for legs!
I think the IS is more sporty.. Check out one our other forums @ http://www.my.is for more information on the IS. Let us know what you decide!

Those are some good points...I did feel the IS was tigher in the interior...but I am 6'1" and the back seat wasn't too bad. I don't like how the center console is super tiny though...not much storage capacity for little things up front.

Anyone have any experience with the IS Nav system? The one I test drove didn't have Nav but thats an important factor...

In terms of size and overall features for the money the TL wins hands down, I think Lexus builds a bit better car in terms of overall quality. Performance wise you will have to get a is350 to notice any signifigant performance differene. My good friend just got a new is250 with AWD, its a sweet car but man it feels tiny compared to my TL.

What happened to the Navi? About how much if you don't mind? How did you come to your final decision? Either would have been a good choice.

We test drove the TL, IS250, and G35. Let me just say all cars were awesome! The IS250 was very smooth and luxurious, the 2 door G35 was surprisingly smooth and fast but was just too small, and the TL was a mixture of both but also a better family car with a definite performance side to it. We ended up getting the TL, our first Acura. We also have 3 Toyotas.

personally, i will not go with IS250 or IS350

The reason I test drove both and there is no leg room for your backseat passenger. I do not see the point of this vehicle being made into 4 dr car. They should of made this into a coupe...

Anyways, this is your ride, and good luck with it.

Rear wheel v.s. front wheel is more about what you're used to driving and you will not notice it until you are cornering at higher speeds. The Acura has what some call a "torque steer" but once you get used to it, you can corner just as well. Type S v.s. IS350 is you get much more interior room and value b/c Nav & Tech are included in the Acura. The only thing I don't like about my Type-S is that the steering wheel position is manually set and I'm use to it automatically raising once the ignition is off. And, I prefer a rack & pin steer.

Should of gotten the 350. Then again I'm a Lexus fan. So don't listen to me.
