Quick question before I buy a TL.

Hey all, just joined this group hoping i can get some help.
I'm planning to buy a TL but got a few questions.
the 2006 model has lesser horsepower than the 2005, does that mean its slower and why did they drop the horsepower?
Also, does anyone have suggestions on which year TL to get, reliability wise.
Thanks for reading.

Actually, it has the same HP...Acura is just using a different, more accurate rating system now. There is no power difference whatsoever between a 2004 to 2007 base TL.

I'm not sure on your second question. Although, Acura has progressively added more features as the the model years have passed so a later model may be a better choice for you. Personally, I seriously doubt there's any difference in the reliablity area but buying an '06 is likely better because they have the tire pressure monitoring system and most of the "new model" kinks have been worked out.

correct, it's the exact same engine, government adjusted the standard on gas mileage calculation, all cars dropped.

so far from what i read the TL has been pretty good on reliability

Hey there, as far as Acura TL goes the engine is the same. I have a 04 TL and there is no difference in the power with a 06 because I have recently just test drove one. Reliability is great. I had my TL for about 2 years now and nothing has gone wrong.
