Yeah pop off the gear plate with something thin like a pocket knife and then let it sit in Jasco Paint remover for 10 mins. Will this work on a 96 RL?

Tootufft Didnt work on my 99 RL but i used Lacker thiner so idk it looks okay though

Villaininblack Awesome DIY, this is a must for every Rl owner. I used Jasco paint remover, purchased at Home Depot for $8, and let it sit for 10 minutes, WIPED off remaining paint and rinsed with water... instant chrome!!! Thanks again for the write-up!

I believe unless im dyslexic(spelling), they said to use the Stripper, not thinner.

you said you used thinner? I'd try it again with a stripper and make sure she puts out!

up date: it been about 3 hours the chrome on the sides started to show but thats about it i called it a day put it back i started getin pissed off ahahah
but w/e iam glad it worked for some ppl maybe its not mint to work for me lol

the chrome started peelin off the sides i see it.... but in my mind it takes time right now i have it sittin for some time see what happenz i dunno we will see
