This is not a complicated thing to repair. Use 3M spray adhesive to reattach. You will need to remove the panel, carefully remove the leatherette cover. Use adhesive remover to clean the old adhesive off the cover and the panel.Hi everyone. I am looking for some advice to repair a delamination of the interior leather pilaster that houses the rear shoulder strap and meets the back window glass. I hope to find someone that has had to deal with this kind of problem and was able to repair it successfully.
Very recently, the faux leather began to delaminate from one plastic molding it was glued to. Have you, or do you know anyone that dealt with this problem? I would appreciate any good suggestions.
Thank you,
DougB
Thank you for the suggestions. This is not a complicated thing to repair. Use 3M spray adhesive to reattach. You will need to remove the panel, carefully remove the leatherette cover. Use adhesive remover to clean the old adhesive off the cover and the panel.
Before paying adhesive, test fit the cover onto the panel to ensure good fit and detect any debris that prints through.
Not easy for your first time. Might be best to practice mounting a piece of vinyl onto a scrap piece of plastic so you are familiar with how the adhesive grabs etc.
