This is for anyone who has had issues with these latches.
The reason your latch is not opening either with the remote or the release by the drivers door is that the latch in the mechanism is made of plastic. This plastic arm is actuated and pulls open the metal latch. Over time the plastic weakens and eventually twists, when this happens the plastic lever completely misses the metal lever.
Now here is my question. Where can I buy a latch assembly without having to go to Acura and pay the big bucks ?
