hello to all. the name is ben. about 4 months ago i purchased a 2001 acura cl and it runs like a champ. all of a sudden, yesterday i just lost 3rd gear in my automatic transmission. it will not work in manual mode either. pulled dipstick and fluid level is okay, fluid is still red, little on the orange side with a little bit of dirt on stick. i smelled the stick and no burning smell to it. no check engine lights or engine stalls so its not the tcc solenoid. before i take it and spend all this money, will flushing and putting new fluid help it:wtf: is there anyone that can give me a response on this

Not really, it sounds like you're on the right track as a first try. The expensive part comes with a transmission rebuild.....hopefully you won't have to go that far.
