Hey Everybody,
I just recently had my headlight start acting up and found that the problem is that the socket has been getting hot and melting on one side of the socket near the contact. Now it'll work occasionally as I twist the headlight assembly in its housing, but will almost always vibrate back into a position where it isn't making contact.
I'd like to link to a picture of what it actually looks like, but this is my first post. Not sure if the mods here would get angry if I tried to link one anyway.
It looks like I'll have to go ahead and get this replaced, but I was wondering if this is a do-able job for a complete car novice. The dealership wants around $250 for parts and labor to do the replacement for me. I've found places to buy the socket online, but can't find instructions on actually replacing the part.
If anyone has some insight, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
