I recently purchased a one owner, dealer serviced RL. The Carfax shows the timing
Belt replacement done in 2009 @ 49,000 miles. The car currently has 130,000 miles on it. No where on the Carfax does it show another timing belt service. I inspected the timing belt and it appears almost new. The date code shows the belt
#1 so it is either 2011 or 2021. Attached are images of the belt. Any guesses as to how old this belt is by looking at it's condition? Thanks in advance.

The date code is in the first image. The first numbers are run numbers, second number is the year and last number is the week. So this belt is either 2011 or 2021. I have the carfax
And have spoken to the dealer. I don't have the
receipt. Everything on the Carfax shows regular maintenance done according to recommended
Schedule. Carfax shows a belt replaced in 2009, 7 years and that was confirmed by the dealer.
I realize Carfax is based on who enters the information but based on my own experience,
I believe Carfax to be accurate. Of course, not all repair facilities share with Carfax. A Vegas
Honda dealership that I have had experience with does not report to Carfax.
The belt looks to be in good condition but appearance can be deceiving.
