Hello all.... I'm a relatively new Acura owner (2008 TL, ~56K miles) and had a question about something I've noticed about the car's ride.

Whenever I'm driving over uneven/rough pavement, there's a thudding/thumping noise and the undercarriage feels "jiggly". This occurs at surface-road speeds (<= 45 MPH) but ride at highway speeds is nice and smooth.

Anyone else notice this kind of issue on their 3G TL?

I currently have a set of high performance summer tires (Firestone Firehawk Indy 500 Wide Oval) on the car which I'm planning to swap out for an all-season touring tire in the next few months.

Any thoughts? Is it the tires? Is there something I need to have looked at (the car was a CPO)? Or is this just the way a 3G TL rides?

Thanks!

Tires definitely have a play on how your ride quality is.

Having high performance summer tires are meant to give the driver feedback and feel of the road, and not absorb the bumps.

Going with touring tires (Continental DWS are GREAT btw), will absorb the bumps with its very soft sidewall.

I highly agree with guitar player however we just a hit snag.

I have the same exact tires on my S, I do not experience that ever... thumping sound eh, jiggly.... I live in the LA area we got 3rd world streets n shit lol smh =)

I do not know if there is any other way to be more specific or precise about the problem you are having, but I am not really getting it or experiencing it.
