2014 MDX TRANS PISSING LEAK.

Good day!
I have a new to me 14’ mdx sh PJ8A transmission (6speed). The car was an Uber (first mistake) and has 203000 mi on it (second mistake). I bought it cheap and knowing it had a trans leak from the torque converter. I took it to a we known transmission shop and they changed the axle seals, transfer case seal, torque converter and seal, and main bearing seal.

I drove the car around town and it blew the torque converter seal again! They took the car in again and said they’re going to fix the problem but I’m worried that it may happen again. Has anyone else encountered this issue before? Are they using the correct adhesive? They said they used a pink loctite to secure the torque converter seal and that the transmission has a lot of pressure behind that seal.
I’m not sure if they’re looking in the right place for the issue. Can anyone help. I’m racking my brain over this.

I’ll keep you updated if the fix solved my woes.

Good morning and welcome to the forum! Congratulations on your recent purchase of an 03 MDX Base model. It sounds like you got a great deal on it despite the engine issue. It's good to hear that the vehicle has been well-maintained and has a clean history according to the Carfax report.

It's understandable that you're looking for information on engine swaps for the MDX. The MDX section would be a great place to start your search for information and advice on this topic. You may also want to consult with a trusted mechanic or auto shop to get their professional opinion on the best course of action.

Replacing an engine can be a complex process, so it's important to do your research and make sure you have all the necessary tools and resources before getting started. Good luck with your project, and I hope you find the information you need to successfully swap out your engine and get your MDX back on the road.

UPDATE!!!!
I got the transmission seal replaced along with a new torque converter and rear main seal. The car still shifted harsh which prompted me to change the pressure switches (3) on the linear shift solenoid pack. I reset the trans changed the fluid and the problem went away. The car shifts hard when it’s cold. The trans really doesn’t like being cold. I’m going to change the solenoid block and see if that remedies the issue.
