Hi ,

I have a 2015 RDX which needs new pads and rotors, I use a local shop for the work, I have been having him order pads and rotors from the dealership in the past and I have been happy with the performance and minimal to no noise. The shop is always pushing after market oem pads and rotors, should I try the oem after market pads and rotors? Does anyone know what the dealer pads are classified as (meaning are the dealer pads Organic, Semi -Metallic or Ceramic) and do I need to get a specific material for the rotor? Am I asking the right questions. Basically I am looking to avoid that brake squeaking noise, I'm not looking to be cheap with the parts ,I just want a high quality pad and rotor that will last and doesn't squeal or make sounds. Thanks in advance for any input or feedback.

Honda and Acura have been using ceramic pads for many years! The reason the wheels on Honda and Acuras, dont get that black brake dust residue.
Akebono ceramic pads are a great pad to use as a stock replacement. Rotors as long as they are of good quality, no specific material above stock is needed unless for track use.
