I think the book recommends 5W20. I think Castrol GTX is good oil. Why are you going so long before an oil change? I have mine done around 3500 miles. Oil weight probably isn't all that critical in SoCal since our weather is so nice.

I going for my first oil change this week. I'm thinking castrol gtx, recomended weight. Any advice?

The recommended interval is 7500. My last car was the same. I put 178k on and it drove like the day I bought it.
