First of all thanks for reading and helping me.
I just bough a 1997 RL from a auction. It came with a key that came with it opened all doors and trunk etc. How ever the battery was dead so I attemted to start it only to find out that the green key flashes instead of starting. So my buddy had a pink master key and attemted to start it to no avail. So I have two questions from what I understand I have to reprogram the key and immobilizer unit. I also uncovered oil in radiator. So if I reprogram before I change motor will I have to reprogram the immobilzer unit again or once its programmed It should work with different motor?

I don't think a used motor will require that...Its the immobilizer system that you will have to re-vamp....

A) you can either reprogram the unit or buy a used one with keys off ebay...

B) oil under the radiator cap is usually an indication of a blown head gasket, have that checked out asap...
