I was thinking of getting an mp3 compatable CD player. The factory HU looks quite 'tall' lookin. What does the adapter look like after an aftermarket goes in.. Is there an ugly gap of plastic, possibly 3-6 inches high??

Any pics of upgraded CD system? thx

you will def. have that ugly gap unless you get a double din sized head unit(same as stock). You can get a head unit and an eq or a headunit and a screen. It all depends what you are going to do with it. I think that you should leave it stock if you are going to keep the stock speakers. I don't believe that the stock door speakers use an external amp, but i could be wrong:dunno:. If they are powered by the head unit, then you might blow them with all the extra juice the new one will give. Also what year TL do you have. If it is the 02 and up you will be missing out on the 6 disk in dash changer with a single din unit. One last thing to thing to think about is if you have Navigation, you will loose the voice. Hope this helps somewhat.

thx biggie, I guess I'll keep it stock and keep burning these damn disks :(

It would be nice to have 1 disk (MP3) that has 10 albums on it :)

You could always get the hard disk player that goes in the trunk. It will work with the factory unit, and can store like 4 gigs of music i believe.
