Well. in less than a month there will be one in my back seat.
Does the seat do anything to the leather? If so, do any of you guys use anything to protect the leather, etc.?

I just put a nice towel under the car seat.

Had one in and out of my TLS ever since I've had it (march). No problems here. I wouldn't put a towel under it since you want the seat to "grab" as much as it can. Get a LATCH kit for your carseat - they rock. If you don't get one, you'll have to use the center seatbelt. The best way to get it to "lock" is to hook it into the carseat, and the seatbelt latch. Then pull the seatbelt from the seat as far as it will go (at the end, you will hear a low "thunk") then reel it back in, and pull it as tight as you can. This locks the seatbelt so that it will only retract and is QUITE useful.

I have a car seat in my tl and if you go to any baby store they make a rubber mat that goes under the seat and protects the seat from making impressions and also stops seat from moving.

i think car seat is gonna be one of many concerns now...baby puke, spilled milk, dirty diapers on the leather...oh man..

i cant wait til i start having kids.

I've got two seats in my TL. I folded over a throw blanket and tucked it into the rear bench. That protects the leather from rubbing on the plastic edges, and helps with minor spills. You don't need to worry about slippage as long as you tighten the seat belt anchor and use the safety anchor near the rear windshield.

I used a towel under the car seat which worked fine. Recently I purchased a SeatSaver (thick plastic mat which protects the seat back and cushion). The only problem with this one is using the LATCH system. It requires minor trimming. BTW, get a Britax car seat.

I believe that TRD makes a baby seat that's real cool - it a six point lap/shoulder seat belt, just like the ones you get with racing seats.

Yup, ditto here too. No problems with slippage with towel underneath the baby seat.

Maybe I should have one to cover the entire backseat:dunno:
