A friend of mine has an automatic 1996 Integra that lurches when put into drive.
What would be a reasonable auto trans treatment for a trans of this age?
Besides trans fluid (it has not been changed recently/ever?) what are the other possible causes of the car lurching?

Thanks,

Rob

What Dean said, worn motor and torque mounts.

I have a 1997 LS with about 154k miles on it and when the idle is high on a cold start and I shift into reverse, it engages hard and lurches a bit. I don't hear any clunks as if any mounts are loose. It doesn't do it going into the forward gears in the same situation, so I'm getting into the habit of backing into parking spaces if I'm going to be there a while. If the engine is up to temp and the idle is below around 1300, it is smooth going into reverse. I haven't looked into possible problems, just figured it's old and the idle is high and it has a firmer engagement into reverse since it's not used as much.
