I hope this may be helpful to some folks out there.

Basically, I was having a weird problem with my 2005 Acura TL where it would suddenly pull to the right while driving :wtf:; after which the VSA and ! light will illuminate.

The lights would clear once you turn the car off.

I did not pay much attention to it until it started to happen everyday.:bigcry:
After some research on the internet, I found the problem was identified as a bad YAW rate sensor. I guess this sensor tells the ABS system what to do and when it goes bad, the ABS gets confused and engages one of the front brake causing the sudden swerve.

In any case, I called the dealer ship for the part and they wanted close to $900 for the part ( screw that :thefinger). Next I tried the junk yards; they wanted $300.
I settled on Ebay where I saw one for $35. Well it was worth a shot so I purchased part number 39960SLJ003 for $35 (by mistake but it worked for my 2005). This was the part number for a 2006 Acura TL ( the one I pulled from my car is 39960SFE003).
To install this, I went on YouTube and found a video on how to take the center console apart. The YAW sensor is located by your right knee (driver side kick panel) in the center console. You will have to take the glove box and the passenger side kick panel out to get to one of the bolts on the passenger side of the console.

Change that cabin air filter while you at it. Most of you probably never change the darn thing.

The kick panels and center console are mainly held togather with clips and a few screws; just pay attention and they will come off easily. The Youtube video will guide you. There are several parts to the video, so watch all parts before attempting this. Sorry I am not allow to post URL yet until I have made 15 posts or else I would paste the Youtube link here also.

I slapped that puppy in and my problem went away.
I got lucky with the part 39960SLJ003. So I guess 39960SLJ003
or 39960SFE003 will work.
Good luck.

Oh Boy!

Thanks for the invaluable information. Husband having problems w/ car. Finally diagnosed as the YAH sensor being bad after the light going on and off. Told high repair job from Acura. Deoesn't want used and is car illiterate (a dentist). Well, this AM I told him to turn off the button. Not only would it not disengage, the car suddenly pulled to the right. Your post was invaluable and Thank God he was driving the 2005 TL w/ 110 miles on it and not me. They are fixing it on Monday at a lower cost. He loves this car and expects get 250K out of it. He babies his cars and gets unbelievable milage from all of them. You may have saved a life here (mine).

I have found myself in the YAW replacement boat for my 2004 TL. I found and watched the youtube clips detailing how to completely remove the center console.

Question for you... do you have to completely remove the center console--stereo and all?

Can you please tell me a little more specifically where the sensor is located? I've researched and quite pin it down...some say in front of the gear shift (do you actually have to remove the shifter knob?).

Once you have all the parts off the center console you have to gain access to the sensor...is it like "right there" or do you have to go digging/disassembling more to get to it and replace it?

Thank you for getting me on the right track. I'm looking at spending $90 for the sensor and saving the $1200 the dealer is quoting me to replace it!
