Here's a good article from CanadianDriver.com about products that keep your tires black.

How to keep your tires black

They recommend Turtle Wax Emerald Series Tire Gel (which I just picked up but have yet to use it...will post a pic once I do). The Meguiar's they say is really nice too. Note that prices in the article are in Canuck dollars.

is the gel going to be sticky?
Gel is the onlyt and best way to go. Trust me. It's sticky if you get it on your hands but really.....what would you expect. It's not sticky like glue....just kinda slimey.....like gel. :D

i mean is it easy for dirt to stick on the tires?
No. I wouldn't think so, but then again, I'm not off-roading in my CLS.:p

I've tried a lot of tire dressing products before cause I like to keep em shiny. I've found that the foaming sprays and the glossy sprays all work pretty much the same. I got the best results with Castrol Tire Shine Spray of any of the spray brands. It was the shiniest and lasted the longest. Sprays are real easy to apply. Just spray and walk away.

However, the gel type of tire dressings last much longer than the spray type. The only ones I've tried so far are the Black Magic Tire tint series and the Meguiars tire gel. The Black Magic tint comes in various colors like Red,Silver,Blue,Green. Really, the color is so faint that you could use it and it ads a subtle amount of color to the tire. You wouldn't notice it unless you really looked.
The Meguiars tire gel was slick, shiny, and lasted for quite awhile. Gels can be applied with a rag or a sponge. I use a concave sponge that's designed for tire gel application.

So sprays are easier to use, but gels last longer.
