I have a 2002 Acura TL with 55K miles on it. Recently I noticed that the BRAKE light next to the speedometer will stay on even after I have disengaged the parking brake. After driving around for a while (about 5 mins), the BRAKE light will then go out on its own:snipe:.

This BRAKE light problem doesn't always happen, but I just noticed it again today when I took the car out.

Your brake fluid is getting low (probably due to worn pads)

Start shopping for new pads now. To extinguish the annoying light, add just a little brake fluid. (With new pads the level will rise, so just a little will do it)



PS Have you ever replaced your brake fluid? Acura recommends every three years, regardless of mileage, because brake fluid absorbs moisture.

Ditto..after driving a bit fluid heats and expands and light goes out.
