bumps on my hood?

3530 Views 16 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  rominl
I noticed last week that there were very small hard bumps on the drivers side hood area. I was fucking pissed b/c I thought they were all pebble marks or something, but yesterday I checked out the same area again and no bubbles :wtf:
Anyone ever have this problem or knows what causes it?!?! Maybe the heat or something? If so, that is one crappy paint that they use!!

have you tried clay bar?
I clayed the car about a couple of months ago. The weird thing is that there were no bumps on there last night???
how big are the bumps that we are talking about here? a lot of them?

Yea, there were alot of them. Little smaller than a pebble mark. You could see them in the light really well, but I just checked about 10 min ago and still no bumps.

Damn, I'll have to take pics next time! :dunno:
ok, try this. get a less noticeable on, put some water on (for lubrication), then try to use your nail and yank them out. can you take them off with some pressure? (please, don't scratch your paint)

if so, that's something that's stuck on your clear coat. i constantly have them, and it MUST be something around my work place coz' i didn't see them when i park my car in the morning but i see them in the evening.

the only way to take them out is clay bar... if that's what you have :(
I go park under a tree most of the time:dunno:

it doesnt' matter. it could be stuff from the tree, something in the air, etc.... to tell you the truth i still don't know what exactly they are. all i know is they are some very hard stuff that's stuck on mycar unless i use my finger nails to yank them out.
Here they are. I felt them last night and it's small, hard, bubble like, and the color of the paint. It's like when you paint a wall and there are bubble marks left over b/c you didnt apply the paint evenly.
Might have to clay the car and see if that works........damn, it looks nasty!!

yeah that's exactly what i have. i don't know the cause too but it's all over the place... try it, find one that's close to the edge or so, use your figer nails and try to yank it out. you will see that it's transparent.

i once cleaned my brand new s2000 and went to work. I decided to park under the tree and shit by the time I got back to the car, i had goosebumps on my car all over. I went by to pick up Zaino clay bar and Maguire's final inspection. After 2 hrs of rubbing and cleaning my s2k was brand new. Give clay a try or take it to a professional shop to identify what it is and fix it urself. If u know the problem, i can help with solution. I am a professional detailer and most things I know how to fix. Sorr y to hear the trouble though..

So you think it's from the tree???
I'm going to take it to the detailers after work to find WTF it is.

well mine was and i was so pissed cuz it was a clean car and i did not have any intention of fuc*ing up my new car. So i clayed it and it was cured. It looks like tree piss. It was bump all over like u got stung by a bee or soemthing... let me know how it goes and if i can help that would be good.

best regards,

Bloo,

thats definately from the tree. Around this time of the year, trees expell this mystified 'sap' like substance that falls on anything underneath. The worst trees to park under are those shade trees that are short and wide. I would park your car away from trees and it should be fine.

I guess I can live with a steaming car, but those bumps irriate me more. I also notice that it's been dropping small white bloches on my car too. Damn that tree!!
Thanks for the help fellas, this had me stumped for a while. :beerchug:
