Alright I have gotten in a few arguements w/ my friend over the HP gains and whatnot between CAI and a shortram intake...

He says a CAI is only good for freeway racing and gives you a DROP in lowend HP...

He says a shortram is better for streelight racing and shit...

What do you guys think? He's a a '00 AV6 if that makes any difference....

OK here goes...

CAI gives you low end torque - Ignore horsepower to a great degree in the low rpm.. Torque is the measure of force given to turn the wheel.. low end torque is what helps your car launch better... CAI helps you launch better :)

Short Ram gives you upper end HP- Takes away low end torque becuase the length of the induction path is reduced.. but then becuase of the same scenario it is more free flowing at high RPM and gives you more HP..

Got it?
