I've decided to do my own oil changes. What oil and filter do you recommend?

Either go with Acura filter or Purolator Pure One filter. As for the oil I used Mobil 1 Trisynthetic, and also I think they are coming out with Mobil1 Supersynthetic replacement of Trisyn...

I use Purolator One oil filter with Castrol 5W-30 oil.

I use the oem honda oil filter or mobil 1 filter with redline 5w-20 for the winter and mobil 1 5w-30 for the summer.

I have hear that 5w-20 is a new oil that they made for those new vehicles.

The vehicle that recommended 5w-20 are not allowed to use other oil. it can used 5w-30 if you couldn't find 5w-20 but it must use 5w-20 when next oil change.

I had read few report and double check few mechanic that I know

Mobil 1 states that their 5w-30 is okay for 5w-20 applications. Check with Rage on a-tl to confirm this as well as he knows alot of about the subject.
