Is it possible to get this to light up? Is the Ashtray lit when you open it?

I find myself looking in there for change at night while trying to pass a toll bridge. I end up turning on the map lights, which is okay.. but I would rather have the light in there.

anyone with an ashtray have a light?

mine has a light.. at least im pretty sure it does. But then again i keep my change in the cup holders.

I am 100% sure mine has a light. Why? because thats where i put my house key and I use to have to reach in there every night to get in after work.

I just checked - mine has a light, but it's only on when the parking or main headlights are on.

Maybe an 02-up feature? Or maybe the bulb burnt out?

yup, the light only turns on when the parking light is on, pretty standard i guess, just like your mirror light, grove box light, etc..

This makes to come to believe that the 99-01 models didn't have this feature..

I've asked my friend who has a 99 and he doesn't have a light there either..

I knew I should have gotten a TypeS!!

mine has a light too...cuz i use it all the time and at nite it really helps..

i have a light in my ashtray, it is always on i believe, same with the light in my glove box. but then again, i'm not sure because i don't test it or anything in the day time.

anyway, i have all that and i just have a 97 CL, i don't really see why the first gen TLs wouldn't have it.

ahhh my bad, i saw 99 and thought it was first gen because 99 is a first gen CL year.
