The D2R has small metallic like square on the glass while the D2S is fully clear.

It covers the xenon capsule so it doesn’t blind other drivers. You can use either bulb in either headlight and they would work perfectly. A D2S bulb in a D2R headlight would look brighter

Why would you guys need to know this anyway? If you buy an H4 conversion kit you dont need to know about D2S or D2R. H4 style HID bulbs are all the same. They have a plate on the bottom so they dont glare too much.KaMLuNg said:soo uhhhhh :dunno:

Thats wierd. H4 style bulbs shouldn't be D2R or D2S. They are H4. I wouldn't worry about it as long as they're not D2S bulbs modified to fit an H4 headlight. Find out before you buy them.
