I was driving my 2003 3.2tl type-s yesterday and when I was sitting at the lights the engine just took off. It went to 4000rpm and I wasn't even touching the throttle. I quickly mashed the brakes and dropped it into neutral. It then surged to 5000 rpm. It slowley went back to around 1200 rpm and the light turned green. I put it back in gear and drove it for another 10 miles without having to use the throttle, it drove on it's own and I had to use the brakes to slow down. After I got to a safe location, I shut it off, waited and started it up again. It started nice and sounded normal but now when I press on the accelerator there is a rattle that sounds like a belt tensioner or loose pully. Anyone else have a problem like this?

Wow, a run-away engine. I'd probably pull the intake hose to the throttle body first to see if there's anything getting snagged at the throttle. And then check the throttle cable so see if it's snagged on anything that would keep the throttle open.
