My car is making a very strange noise. From the moment you turn it on it has a slight whine to it and the engine whines progressively louder as you accelerate in drive and/or neutral. When I popped the hood it appears as though the silver alternator that the timing belt is attached to is vibrating very rapidly and I am thinking that is where the noise is coming from (noise in engine happens when the car is in park as well---no whine though)
