Hello.

I've been told by my dealer that in order to replace the headlight covers on my 2006 it is necessary to remove the front bumper. Has anyone had to replace these, and if so, is it really necessary to remove the bumper first?

I have some very strange markings and discoloration going on with mine and they look terrible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

As far as I know, the dealer doesn't sell the lens cover by itself. On my RSX, any time I've had to pull the headlights off, it required pulling the bumper off (the headlight sits on a bracket, and in order to get to the bracket, the bumper must be removed)

Yup changed my headlights to the black JDM style, bumper had to come off - but its really easy. 2 screws and a bunch of plastic clips, pulled right off. Took like five minutes.

yup. the headlights are held on by a few bolts, 1 of which is under the headlight behind the bumper. no other way to get to it. and FYI, you'll need about a 10" extension on the ratchet to reach that particular bolt. but like 808rsx_type-s said, it's really easy to take the bumper off. 2 screws (1 in each wheel well) and 8 or so clips underneath.
