Alright, I am a proud driver of a 2004 Acura RSX Type S with 47,xxx miles on it. However, I hear a hissing sound at about 3200 RPM-3500 RPM. I searched all over the web and forums and figured that it must be a heat shield. What should I do to fix this problem? Should I just remove it entirely? Can anyone give me a DIY step by step process?

Thank you tons!

I have no modifications what so ever on the car. That is the most puzzling part, it's all stock. And I've kept the car meticulously maintained

With hisses, I'd be more worried about a leak somewhere. If you have an intake of some kind, it will hiss. With heat shields, you'll get a metallic rattling sound. As far as removing the heat shield, you'll need to take the O2 sensor off and the either slowly cut it off with some tin snips, or likewise with a more automated machine (plasma torch anyone?).
