Thats nasty, esp for such a new car. It is still under warranty, so I'd head straight to tthe dealer to get it fixed. The heater core itself does not get hot enough to cause anything to burn. I suspect you have either an arcing blower motor., or something caught in the blower that when it spins for a long time can be singed or ignited. Pine needles perhaps? No matter the issue, the dealer will fix it for free!Just turned on the heater on my 2017 ILX for the first time this season and there is an unpleasant smell coming out of the vents. It smells like something is burning. Any ideas what this could be and how to remedy it?
