hi, i work at an acura dealership in pennsylvania. i was wondering maybe someone on here had a similair experience with 2004 tl radio problems. my original radio worked fine, then i got a dui one night, and a cop broke my dave matthews cd off in my cd player. i carefully took the broken cd out and that cd player has always said "err" when you try to put it in cd mode.......that was 7 years ago!!....i have been driving 65 miles round trip every day for 7 years with no music whatsoever in my tl and a large hole in my dashboard. however i recently acquired another radio from a tl and i tried to install it and entered the radio code and the radio works but the cd player again says err. (they werent sure if this radio worked or not). i really had my hopes up and thot i might have fixed the problem....but no......

(in case your wondering i did try to get it fixed at the dealer and to send the radio out for repair costs about $400 just for them to open it up....regardless of whether it comes back fixed or not) and a new radio is $1500!! i tried calling every junkyard on this 1/2 of pennsylvania with not much luck......
does anyone else have any ideas? i am seriously searching craigslist every single day to purchase an entire different automobile.......i like this tl, but cant solve this radio problem:mad:

i was trying not to split it open just yet. i aleady opened my first original radio up with no success. now i left the car sit for 2 days and started it up and the cd player says "disc format" which according to the acura service ISIS means that there is a disc of wrong format inside the player. but this radio we are pretty sure was recieved back from komec (panasonic). i might get this one tech to look at it. i tried calling 7 medium and large junkyards with no success for a radio.

Okay, but wait a sec. You're already looking for used radios. If you're looking at installing a used one, what do you have to lose by grabbing a screwdriver and opening it up? If you don't feel comfortable doing it, buy a tech lunch and ask him to.

You work at an Acura dealership, and so do I, therefore I am entitled to give you hell on this :spit:
