I just answered your question from another thread... I guess I'm a little slow and not paying attention.

I guess your dad got it! Is this on a lease too? Sounds like he may have bought this one. $38,300 is a fantastic price (wish I could have paid that for my 2000...) I'm sure he loves it!

could it get any better than this?

$41,000 is still pretty good! (that damned Lux tax probably didn't help either)

Can you tell the diff between the '99?

Acutally yes. The suspention work that they did was great. The car doesnt feel as boaty as the 99 model. And of course the navi in the 02 is better since its dvd based, haventplayed with onstar yet.. but i will. ;) Also the 225hp engine sounds sweet at start up, has a different tone than the 99. And for some reason the RL gained a good amount low end power. The pedal is much responsive and doesnt have that lag.
Besides that.. everything seems the same. They painted the lower body peices now, and it looks much better.

Only thing lacking in this car is the radio material, it looks very cheesy.. it needs somthing that looks more classy.

But for the money this car rocks. :beerchug:

You know, I've been dismayed about that too!:sqnteek:

I've heard a few reviews that complain about the wood seeming a bit too plasticy, but, no one ever mentions the other material!

I've been looking around and I found a guy that could redo some of the facing with this cool epoxy material that gives it a high-end stereo look... only problem is that the material is not so good in So.Cal. He makes custom audio components but, usually for in home use. He thinks that the material would not last too long in a hot car--even with the U.V. coated windows. As for looks... It is SWEET! I can only imagine it, since he hasen't hade me a sample yet. I wish I had a pic, of the material...

He mentioned that the material might hold up better if he could make a thicker piece. I am considering having him make a new shift gate surround out of the material. If you look at the RL's shifter, you will notice the grayish, almost metalic, plastic piece that has the shift gates "carved" into it... Imagine it being a highly polished, high gloss clear plastic with any color or pattern painted behind it (kinda like the new LS430 one). That should look SWEET!!! and it feels very lux... I'm afraid that it might look better in my head, though... besides, I like my car, even with it's few faults... i'm not sure I want to pay to have something so insignificant made.

Also, since I'm bitchin' a little, I wish Acura would put the seat controls on the door or somthin'... I can't seem to work the seat comfortably without the door open... they just didn't put enough room for an arm in there! (at least, not MY fat arm)
