I have a 1995 integra SE (special edition sedan)

I bought this car used and it didnt come with a manual for the alarm (it is a factory alarm). All I know how to do is set it and disarm it. I don't like using the alarm. I have run into many instances of it accidentally going off. In one situation my remotes battery was dead and I couldn't get it to shut off. I really want to permanently turn it off so nothing can set it off. Is there any combination that I can input on the 2 buttons on my remote to accomplish this? It is a factory alarm

PLEASE HELP !!! Thanks so much!!

Um i don't think you can actually turn it off, by using the remote anyways. I wasn't aware the the 95s came w/ an alarm...you sure it's not aftermarket?

alarm question continued

I am pretty sure its stock because when I take the head unit out my remotes stop working and of course the alarm goes off continually. So obviously part of the alarm whether it is the brain or the sensor for the remotes is built into the head unit.

My problem is I want to install a pioneer head unit I just got so I need to disable the alarm for good in order to do it. I called the dealership to ask them how to do it (which was like pulling teeth, plus it sounded to me like they barely new what they were talking about) and they told me there was a switch under the drivers seat that would disable it. Of course I checked very thoroughly and of course there isn't.

I did find a toggle switch down by my feet but I can't figure out what it does. It doesnt' disable the alarm because when I take the head unit out it goes off with the switch in both positions.

Anyone that can help me with disabling this bastage is my hero! Please!

Um, the head unit alarm is something else. Anti-theft device on the unit? I'm pretty sure that it's not the stock alarm.. take a picture of your driver's door lock for me. Also, if you get the panosonic installed, they can probably take care of the alarm problem for you.

I'll have to take that picture for you. The reason I was thinking it was stock was because I read on a couple of forums that the 96-9? civics have a similar problem where the reciever for the remotes is built into the head unit so if you have factory keyless entry or alarm then they no longer work when the stock radio is removed so installers have to install both the stock unit somewhere (usually back in the dash, supposedly there is room) and the new receiver in order to have the new reciever and still be able to use the keyless entry.

I figured I had the same thing going on due to the fact that nothing seems to respond when I take out the head unit.

I know it has alarm in and out pins on the back of the stock radio that plug into the wiring harness (the center two pins that don't exist in after market reviever wiring harnesses to my knowledge) Like you said this doesn't mean that it controls the alarm necessarily, it could just let the system that the reciever has been removed.

The 95 GS-R I bought came with a keyless entry/alarm setup on it. I just went and looked at the alarm horn, under the hood bolted to the firewall, and it doesn't have any 'Honda' script on it, and neither do the fobs.
I was having the same problem as you, Foosjitsu, I was accidently setting the alarm off all the time. When we installed a new CD player the alarm went off but a quick punch on the fob turned it off. I also had the alarm going off when I needed a jump start and it wasn't until the car got started that the fob would turn it off.
I found a toggle switch in the drivers side kick box and it never seemed to turn the alarm off. I finally just turned the alarm off with the fob, placed one fob in the armrest box (for a just-in-case measure), and have never had it go off since.

Many thanks!

Thanks for the Tips and advice. I think I am good to go now. Having an aftermarket alarm installed would solve my problems (maybe that the best advice) but then I wouldn't have a project and I would feel like a quiter plus I like to know whats going on in my car. Saturo, good idea putting the fob in the armrest.

Don't get me wrong, Foosjitsu. I didn't cut out a piece of the armrest or do some kind of fancy work. I mean I just opened the lid and stuffed the fob underneath all the bank statements, ATM reciepts, gum wrappers, ect. that were already in the armrest compartment. Ha, I can barely wax my car much less do any complicated work. But I've found this forum very helpful, and, who knows, maybe someday....:D

If the battery is dead on your remote, simply unlock the driver's door with your key, put the key into the ignition, press the little button to the left of (and slightly below) the steering column, then start the car. While you're doing this, the alarm will be going off (kind of embarrassing if anyone's around), but it'll stop as soon as you start it.

I figured this out the hard way.

I don't think you can disable the stock alarm and continue to use the stock remote. The keyless entry also activates/deactivates the alarm.

I have a 1994 GS-R with an Acura alarm, and I have been able to disable the alarm when needed. You should have a push button switch below the coin box on the left side of the steering wheel. Push this button for 5 seconds until the alarm indicator lights up. That tells you that the alarm has been deactivated. 'Hope this helps.

ok now im confused about my 96 GSR--when i bought it it had the factory head unit and there was a little red light that would blink (the anti-theft light). since then ive replaced the head unit. but my question is does my car have an alarm? obviously its never gone off if i do and i dont have any sort of remote, just a key. was the alarm an option or was it standard on GSRs? any info would be great thanks guys

no you dont have an alarm....that anti-theft light was anti-theft on the factory stereo...thats all....the integra 3rd gen didnt come with any sort of factory alarm, just the immobilizer that is linked into the key...pretty much in theory, only your two keys are supposed to start your car
