The problem now is that the trunk no longer pops open like it did before the spoiler. I already adjusted the trunk springs and it still won't pop up. How did those of you with the same problem I have fix it? Did you buy new trunk spring bars...does that work? Please Help!!!! Thanks.
i thought it's the other way. at least the one by ACP is much lighter than the oem one. with the oem one you would need to adjust the trunk spring but with the ACP one you don't even have to move it i believe2001TL4KCdude said:are your spoilers aftermarket or OEM? you should not have any problem with OEM (mine is) because they are lightweight. the aftermarket ones are heavier and may account for your trunk not popping up.
it pops up, but not all the way up, maybe 7-8 inches...songoku said:So if I order new torsion bar from the dealer, the trunk lid will pops open??
That's about 6.75-7.75 inches more than what my trunk opens up now...Originally posted by Outlook

Did you adjust the stock ones? You can make them tighter by moving them into the only other available slot. I did this and did feel that it was tighter and that once I open up the trunk, it stays open.Originally posted by songoku

Thanks for the info John,johnnyb_s said:Hmm...adjusting is free, but didn't totally open up my trunk lid all the way before the spoiler. If you have a spoiler AND stock torsion bars and want your trunk to pop open, get new heavy-duty bars. If you just want the trunk to stop closing on your head, adjust the springs. If that doesn't work, get new bars.![]()
Think again buddy, daltls said:I have the ACP spoiler. Trunk pops open (meaning it's unlatched). It will stay open by itself if I open it all the way. Didn't do anything to the springs.
Yea, I just bought this car yesterday, NOT! I've had the car since November, bought the spoiler in the first week. If I thought I was talking to dumb shits I would have quantified my statement with a time span. I was pretty sure I wasn't, but I'm wondering now. One more time, "no bonk Tarzans head", not once. :bash:songoku said:
Think again buddy,
It really hurts when you get hit by the trunk lid on windy day.
From that day and on, you'll be afraid of trunk lid to open it and put your head down. :mhihi: :mhihi:
calm down dude, songoku was just joking.daltls said:
