Seen a lot of people ask for this and I haven't come across this anywhere but a few places... hopefully this can help out a few of our members.

Reading the Codes:
The ECU (Electronic Control Unit) gives you the codes in long and short blinks/flashes. For every long flash it is in multiples of 10... each short stands for 1.

Examples:
(Long)(Short)(Short)(Short)(Short)(Short)(Short) = 16

(Short)(Short)(Short)(Short)(Short) = 5

The ECU can also give you more than one code at a time... so if there is more than one code, once the first code is given the LED will remain unlit for approx 2-3 secounds then display/flash a new code. The ecu will continue to loop the codes so if you miss one it will come around and repeat the codes.

Remember to write them down!

'86-'91 Honda and '86-'93 Acura
*Note - This ECU is found on the passenger side underneath the dash, you will have to remove/pull back the carpet to access it - The ECU is equipt. with a window to the flashing LED.

*Note: The ECU is located on the passenger side, underneath the dash; however in this year range things were simplified, the CEL (Check Engine Light) will flash vs. having to access the ECU. This does not apply to 1996 and newer computers with the OBDII system. OBDII computers require the use of a code scanner.

ABS Diagonistic Codes (1998-2001)

To check the ABS codes when the ABS light is on:

ABS Codes:
*Remember FR = Front Right, FL = Front Left, RR = Rear Right, RL = Rear Left

11 FR - Wheel sensor (open/short to body ground/short to power)
13 FL - Wheel sensor (open/short to body ground/short to power)
15 RR - Wheel sensor (open/short to body ground/short to power)
17 RL - Wheel sensor (open/short to body ground/short to power)
12 FR - Wheel Sensor (electrical noise/intermittent interruption)
14 FL - Wheel Sensor (electrical noise/intermittent interruption)
16 RR - Wheel Sensor (electrical noise/intermittent interruption)
18 RL - Wheel Sensor (electrical noise/intermittent interruption)
21 FR - Pulser
22 FL - Pulser
23 RR - Pulser
24 RL - Pulser
31 FR-IN - Solenoid (short to body ground/short to wire)
32 FR-OUT - Solenoid (short to body ground/short to wire)
33 FL-IN - Solenoid (short to body ground/short to wire)
34 FL-OUT - Solenoid (short to body ground/short to wire)
35 RR-IN - Solenoid (short to body ground/short to wire)
36 RR-OUT - Solenoid (short to body ground/short to wire)
37 RL-IN - Solenoid (short to body ground/short to wire)
38 RL-OUT - Solenoid (short to body ground/short to wire)
41 FR - Wheel Lock
42 FL - Wheel Lock
43 RR - Wheel Lock
44 RL - Wheel Lock
51 Wheel Lock
52 Motor Stuck OFF
53 Motor Stuck ON
54 Fail-safe Relay
