Hi everyone

I found a 2005 Acura MDX with 193,000 miles on it selling for a price of $2,500.

The car has a few minor dents which i figured I could deal with considering the price.

I've done some research and found out that these cars have a timing belt issue as well as a couple of other things.

My my question is do you guys think this is a good deal ?
And should I go on with checking out the car and purchasing it ?
If I do go on with checking out the car, is there anything I should look for as a red flag, i.e: oil leak, etc. ?

You could probably find a 2500 dollar car with way less mileage. Since you did not own it from day one, you don't know how well (or lack thereof) it was taken care of, driven, maintained, etc. You could end up soon with needing a new tranny or engine or other high dollar part. Usually if the cost of the repair is greater than the value of the vehicle or a years worth of monthly payments on a car that you would buy new or a relatively newer used car, than its time to buy a new (or used) car so in this case, with 193k miles on it, could you see a new tranny or engine overhaul coming that would cost around 2500? I do. I would let the owner donate it to charity.
