I picked up an '04 TL in almost perfect shape last Monday, and having a stock ELS audio head unit from that year I don't have a USB jack.
What does the back of the head unit look like? I don't have any desire to get satellite radio, and I was wondering if the XM receiver was in a separate chassis from the head unit. If so, could I use the XM input to the head unit for a line input from my iPhone/iPod?
Obviously, it won't be able to control the iPhone/iPod from the head unit or the steering wheel controls, but I don't really want to go with an FM transmitter. I have a cheap one on order from Amazon. If worse comes to worse, does anyone have any recommendations for the type that are in the $100-$200 range?
