Dont try to be a smartie and say what you know, the numbers I posted are for KONI adjustables. What is the difference between the numbers you posted and the ones I posted?
Sorry if i came across wrong, i am just trying to help. Look at the begining of the part#.......yours are 8040 and the ones i listed are 8041. 8041 are the sports model.
the strut numbers you listed are regular koni struts painted yellow...just because they are yellow does not mean they are the rebound adjustable type. i been looking for koni struts myself thats why. i just don't want anyone to get dissapointed thinking they ordered adjustables when in actuallity they ordered regular struts.
so, which ones do i order? which are the ones that are sold on acura-tl.com site?
Hi Guys, I can help out because I made the mistake of ordering 8040's the first time and having to reorder the 8041's which I have installed on my 3.2TL.

The 8040's I originally got were yellow in color and also rebound adjustable, however they were not externally adjustable with a knob on the top of the shocks like the 8041's. If you want to be able to adjust the shocks easily after they are installed, then go for the 8041's. The 8040's are only adjustable before installation and to adjust them again, you will have to take them off the car to adjust them.

Hope this helps!

Where did you order your struts from.........and how much were they?

Sorry, I didn't fill in my location. I live in BC, Canada and I paid an arm and a leg for mine because I was in a hurry to get them and did not shop around. The 4 cost me over $1,000 US Funds for parts only. Shop around and you should be able to get them for much less.
so, the Front 8041-1185 and Rear 8041-1168 can be used on a 2.5 TL also? because i read that the KONI's cannot be used on the 3.2's

From my understanding, the Koni's are made to fit the 2.5TL, however with a bit of work, they will work on the 3.2TL.

Here is what I had to do to fit the front Koni's on my 3.2TL. The rear ones fit with no problem:

1. The front springs on the 3.2 are larger in overall diameter than the 2.5, therefore the spring perches had to be taken off the original shocks and put on the Konis.

2. The brake line brackets didn't line up as well so I had to adapt.

3. I had to have extra grooves machined higher up on the front Konis to get the height I wanted because the 2.5 shocks are about 2" shorter than the ones on the 3.2.

If you have a 2.5, its simple, but for you 3.2 owners, its a bit of work, but well worth it. Hope this helps out!
I am selling my knois, teh front ones are 8041 and the rear 8040. I did it because to adjust the rear ones you will have to take out the whole back seat which is too much work for me. Well if you are interested in buying the set (al l4) from me you can contact me at [email protected]. the shocks come with a lifetime warranty and have been used for about 5 months (4500 miles). I paid over $600 (shipping included) for all 4. Make an offer. :)
