My 99 TL has 311,000+ miles.😱 With the front wheels off the ground grabbing the tire at 9 oclock and 3 oclock I have a couple inches of play (pushing /pulling wheel right to left) on both front wheels. There is zero play at 6 and 12 (pushing and pulling up and down wheel bearing check). I just put a complete front end kit that included upper/lower control arms, ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, stabilizer bar end links. If the bearings were bad it should be both side to side and up and down I would think. The same would apply to the axles. The only thing left is the rack. Is there way to test it to confirm if it's faulty? With 311k miles the $300 for the front end kit was money well spent. Not one of those old parts had a grease fitting. I haven't priced a rack yet. Scared to truth be known. Really I don't mind the cost as long as I know it will fix the problem. 🤔 Educate me please. Thank you in advance !!!

Thanks for your thoughts Wheels420!! I have an appointment with a local front end specialist tomorrow. He's been in the business his entire life they say. I'll post the outcome. It steers pretty darn good to be the rack. You rarely hear about them going out too. Since that's the most expensive part in the system, I hope it's anything but that. If it turns out to be it, I may be making the trip to the U-Pull It yard !!
